"Coffee Sundays and Sweet Potatoes"

By making the choice to be saved, I made the greatest decision of my life and that was to give my heart to Christ.

It wasn’t just a moment, it was a surrender.

I decided to trust Him fully, even when life doesn’t make sense.

There’s truly no other choice that compares to the peace and purpose that comes from following Jesus.

Yet grief... it continues to appear, particularly on Sundays.

That's when I recall the coffee conversations at the table after church,

chicken fricassee "chicken stew" in the cast iron skillet on the stove...

"What you cooking Maw Maw?"

It's also the trips to New Orleans to see grandmommie and having a roast, mac and cheese, stuffed peppers, candied yams, and a "green salad" every single Sunday!

"Kay, Im cooking your favorite!"

Those small, ordinary moments were really extraordinary blessings.

They were lessons in love.. lessons in faith.

Now, as I walk through grief, I hold on to those memories as reminders that love never dies. The same God who held them then holds me now.

Even on the hardest Sundays, when I miss those coffee chats and the smell of sweet potatoes on the stove, grace reminds me that the story isn’t over.

One day, I’ll sit at another table, a heavenly one.

At that table there will be no more pain, no more tears, and no more goodbyes.

Grief may visit, but grace...

Grace stays.

People often ask why I share so much...

I like to share my heart, my story, my struggles, my faith.

The truth is simple.

I’d rather be honest with you.

I’d rather you know that when you see my smile, it’s not because life has been easy.

It's because God has been good!

Every tear, every trial, every waiting season has revealed just how faithful He really is!

Giving your life to Christ will not be a smooth ride.

There will be storms.

There will be losses.

There will be days when you question and, also there will be days when you cry.

I know this may sound crazy to some but, it will also be beautiful!

His glory tends to show up in the moments you least expect.

And what's even more amazing?

He didn't leave us to walk this journey alone.

He sent us His Holy Spirit to dwell within us.

The Holy Spirit was sent to comfort us, guide us, strengthen us,

and to remind us that we are never alone.

What an amazing gift!

I share this because I want you to know this same truth.

Repent.

Turn to Him.

Your life will suddenly not be perfect but, I truly believe that you'll discover a joy that carries you through your own trials.

Over seven years ago is when I gave my life to Christ.

I can honestly say, without hesitation, that it was the best decision I have ever made.

Through every season, every valley, every victory...

What a friend I have in Jesus!

This walk isn’t always easy, but it’s worth every step.

When you give your life to Him, you don’t just find religion.

You find relationship.

You find peace.

You find purpose.

And you find grace that never leaves.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Psalm 34:18
